Scope of Works that Requires Professional Consultants/ BCA Approved Contractors
1. Tiling Works - You need a Professional Engineer (PE)'s endorsement if you are thinking of replacing the floor finishes of your property and raising the level of the floors. Doing these works incorrectly can add unnecessary stress on the floor slab of the flat and weaken the structure of the flat.
2. Hacking of Walls - Before you hack down any walls in your property, you need to obtain an endorsement from a PE. This is to ensure that the demolition works do not compromise the structural integrity of the property
3. Doors Alteration - You need a Qualified Person (QP) to replace your main entrance door if it is situated along a fire escape route i.e. facing a staircase or lift lobby. The replacement door and the frame of the door must be half-hour fire-rated too, and complete with a door closer.
4. Windows Works - A BCA-approved contractor is needed if you want to install or change your property’s windows, or grilles. The design of the windows, grilles, and accessories such as awnings, zip tracks, or blinds must also comply with the color and design scheme approved by the MCST to maintain a consistent outlook of the development

I agree to grant the right of use to work on my application and to disclose my personal data as it is reasonably required for the purpose stated above as the information is necessary to process my application and that the processing time for such application is at least 5 working days.
I agree that I will not carry out any renovation works without the prior written approval from the MCST.
I confirm that I am responsible for engaging the necessary PE and/or QP to undertake the works and to ensure that the works comply with the relevant building codes and/or regulations and/or legislation and/or statutory requirements (Authority Requirement).
I confirm that I have obtained all necessary approval(s) from the relevant authority and/or agency (Approval) and have enclosed the Approval.
I confirm that the renovation works will not and do not affect any structural elements and the development's overall facade and/or outlook. I have obtained from the MCST and/or Management Office, read and agree to abide by the relevant rules, regulations, and/or By-Laws (MCST Rules) of the MCST on renovation and will give notice and informed my contractor(s) of the MCST Rules including the stipulated working hours.
To avoid doubt, the MCST can at its sole discretion utilize the security deposit, if collected, to pay for the Rectification Works and recover any balance, upon the expiration of the deadline given to me to carry out the Rectification Works.
